Why work with a PCOS coach?
There is an overwhelming amount of information out there on PCOS, access to information isn’t the problem. But I know firsthand how lonely your PCOS journey can be, the lack of support and empathy and constant worry about what the future looks like.
As a health coach, specifically for those Cyster with PCOS, my goal is to support you in achieving and maintaining a healthy lifestyle that supports your PCOS symptoms. My primary focus is to empower and guide you in making positive and sustainable changes that are tailored to you. You know the answer but sometimes you need someone to ask you the right question and that extra helping hand.
I like to describe a health coach as a combination of a best friend, a motivational speaker, and that overly enthusiastic workout video instructor you secretly love to hate. They're the person who will get you to think deeper, challenge your current thinking and give you the knowledge and confidence to do what’s right for you and in this case your PCOS and fertility journey.
My journey took me over 4 years and looking back now, if I had someone (separate from my friends and family) who would give me that little bit of motivation, I wouldn’t have had to suffer for so long.
Here are some key areas I worked with my clients on:
Goal Setting: I work with my clients to identify and set realistic, achievable health and wellness goals. An important piece of goal setting is identifying previous barriers and working together to fit them into your own lifestyle. These goals may include weight management, improved nutrition, increased physical activity, stress reduction, and better sleep.
Education and Information: I provide clients with relevant information about nutrition, exercise, stress management, and other aspects of a healthy lifestyle. They help clients understand the impact of their choices on their well-being and educate them on making informed decisions.
Motivation and Accountability: As health coaches, we serve as motivators and accountability partners. We help clients stay focused on their goals, overcome obstacles, and celebrate successes. Regular check-ins and discussions about progress help clients stay committed to their health and wellness journey. I like to call us your own cheerleader!
Behavioural Change: Behaviour is vital to make any sort of change. I will help you to identify and address unhealthy habits, develop new, positive behaviours, and establish sustainable routines that contribute to long-term health improvements.
Individualised Approach: Each person is unique and so are our PCOS symptoms and journeys. You will have different causes, needs, preferences, and challenges. I will tailor my coaching approach to you, taking into account factors such as personal values, lifestyle, and health history. What works for me, or someone else might not be right for you.
Talk the Talk: This is very important to me. Anything that I recommend to my clients and support you with, I have been through and or tried myself.
Overall, the role of a health coach and my promise to you is to inspire, guide, and empower you to take an active role in your health, promoting positive and sustainable lifestyle changes to manage and repair your PCOS symptoms.
